Alex and Yotaka Martin are the chefs and owners of Lom Wong and Mr. Baan’s Bar and Mookata indowntown Phoenix. They started as a pop-up in their living room and grew both concepts intentionally recognized award winning restaurants. Alex and Yotaka exceed in creating uniquerestaurant concepts unlike any other in Phoenix. Their styles are influenced by living and working small villages across Thailand, as well as their own individual heritages, and focus on traditional methods, sincere flavors, and showcasing sides of Thai and other cuisines that are underrepresented in the United States.
We celebrate the diverse people and cultures of Thailand by cooking the types of food that one would find in villages and small towns across the different regions of the country. Additionally, we tell the stories of the amazing people who honored us teaching us their recipes. We started Lom Wong as a way to remain connected to our collective friends and families across the country. Our mission is to be sincere to the ingredients, techniques and service styles that one would find in the villages and towns that inspired our concept.
